Széchenyi Thermal Bath Széchenyi Fürdõ
It is one of the biggest thermal bath complexes in Europe and the first thermal bath in Pest.
The present bath building was constructed in 1913, while the swimming pool and the two public baths were built in 1927. The atmosphere of Roman bathing culture may be felt in its light, spacious pool halls, while Greek bathing culture is reflected in the tub baths, but traces of Nordic traditions may also be found in the heat chambers, saunas and dipping pools. The Széchenyi Baths are the deepest and hottest baths in Budapest, the water reaches the surface at a temperature of 75 degrees. The rich minerals-content springs are distinguished according to their alleged healing properties. They are recommended for treating rheumatism and disorders of the nervous system, joints and muscles.

In 1881 there was already an Arthesian Bath in operation here, the actual bath was built in 1913. the swimming pools were renewed in 1999. There is also a daytime outpatient hospital with a complex physiotherapy department. Services: healing cure program, healing gymnastics for individuals and groups, underwater gymnastics, weight bath, dry and steam sauna, finnish saunas, carbonic tub-bath treatment, mud-packing, medical healing massage, refreshing massage, fitness room, fat-burning and shaping gymnastics.

The water supply for the bath is provided by the Saint Stephen Well Nr.II commissioned in 1938. It is a hot-spring water with calcium, magnesium, hydro-carbonate, also containing sodium and sulphate, with a significant content in fluoride and metaboric acid. The water of the drinking well is a healing water with calcium, magnesium, hydro-carbonate, chloride, sulphate, also containing alcalics and a substantial amount of fluoride.
